Rev. Elizabeth was born in Rangoon, Burma, a country in southeast Asia. She is "full-blooded" Chinese and her parents came to America seeking escape from a Socialist government. She grew up attending the Methodist Church with her parents in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and participated in the choir and Sunday School.
After graduating from Yale, she was planning to get a doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley but decided to take a break. She enrolled in seminary in Berkeley where she felt called into ministry. She was ordained in 1997.
Rev. Elizabeth's first ministerial assignment was in Phoenix, Arizona. Then she moved to serve in Cheyenne, Wyoming for seven years before being called to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2016.
In March 2024 she began her ministry in Idaho Falls serving two United Methodist churches, Trinity and St. Paul's.
